Thom at the mountain

There are jobs on the mountain for all tastes, over 4 seasons, full time or part time. It is even possible to easily reconcile work and studies on the mountain. This is the case of Thomas Denis, who has been working at the store since the summer of 2022 and will continue this winter as well, even during the school year. For him, it's the best student job possible.

Thomas Denis

Thomas, 14 years old, works on the mountain on weekends, while going to school in Montreal during the week. This perfect combination is possible thanks to his family chalet in St-Tite-des-Caps, just minutes from Le Massif. "The mountain is like my home. I learned to ski on the slopes of Le Massif at the age of one and a half, and I've been in the ski club since I was 8," says Thom, as everyone calls him.

Being part of a jovial team

It was his cousin Philippe, or Philou as Thom calls him, who inspired him to join the team on the mountain. Thanks to his cousin, he was sure to have fun as a store clerk, not only to be part of a fun team, but also to learn more about mountain biking and maximize his time outdoors. Thomas is an avid skier, but his love of mountain biking has been reinforced by working at the store.

Constant learning

Among the reasons he enjoys being part of the Le Massif family, Thom mentions working with positive and knowledgeable people who share their knowledge with him, which he greatly appreciates. "I'm learning about mountain bike mechanics and even starting to do some with Thibault and Fred. I'm also learning how to manage a store with Émilie and Thérèse, as well as developing my approach to customer service.

A job that makes you disconnect

The atmosphere at Le Massif, it is lived and it is undeniable. "You feel so far away. It makes you disconnect, it's a human experience. Your head is clear when you leave. Thom believes it's the perfect student job because of the positive, good-humored people who work at Le Massif, but also for being able to move around in nature. "Instead of being on my cell phone or computer, I get to socialize, develop a sense of responsibility and enjoy the outdoors.

It is an experience to live.

When Thomas was asked what he would tell his friends who would like to work at Le Massif, he replied, "Take a chance. It's an experience. You're here to have fun, learn and persevere. It's such a different and unique world. You may never experience it again. Le Massif is a way of life that can be lived to the fullest, at any age, regardless of the job setting.
