New Flight for the Mechanical Bird in 2024

After captivating tens of thousands of visitors in its debut last year, the iconic Mechanical Bird is returning for a second season. This nighttime attraction at Le Massif de Charlevoix promises to once again blend splendor and innovation in an unparalleled escapade. With a renewed yet unprecedented formula, the Mechanical Bird adds a festive welcoming zone at the mountain summit, a gondola descent towards the river, as well as a new course featuring a tableau at the base trail of the mountain, and a luminous chairlift ascent to the summit’s nest.
With optimised access to the course and the capacity to accommodate nearly double the number of visitors, this spectacular flight among land, sky, and sea delivers a multisensory adventure akin a soaring bird. Achieving record breaking visits in its first active season, the creators and manager – the renowned Atelier Occhio team and Daniel Gélinas – are committed to igniting the same level of excitement this year.
A Breathtaking Night Show
It's a rare experience to ascend a mountainside on a carousel. Whether guests choose the dinner show at the Camp Boule buvette de montagne restaurant or at the summit chalet, they'll be immersed in the nighttime ambiance from the moment they set foot on the mountain. A vibrant reception area will welcome visitors as the entry point to the Mechanical Bird route, inviting spectators to take-in the enchanting atmosphere by the faux campfire and on the terrace nestled atop the summit.
The Massif Express gondola will now facilitate the descent, enriching the experience with a narrative punctuated by emotionally evocative music, enveloping the guests as excitement builds. This not only improves visitor capacity, but also offers passengers an opportunity to gaze out over the river while connecting with the elements of nature.
The hiking trail, illuminated with lights at the base of the mountain, will provide a magical atmosphere on an accessible, low-incline and significantly-shortened path. A new tableau will animate the pathway for visitors on the Passe-Temps footbridge, linking the gondola to the chairlift at the base of the slopes.
