The Mechanical Bird’s New Flight Has Officially Launched!
The Mechanical Bird – the unique nighttime attraction at Le Massif de Charlevoix – took to the skies for the first time on Thursday, June 21, 2024, kicking off a new season that runs until September 2, inclusively. After successfully captivating tens of thousands of visitors last summer, the iconic Mechanical Bird returns is back, now with a reinvented form blending the grandiose and the unexpected like never before.
Visitors are invited to enjoy a dinner and show at the Camp Boule buvette de montagne restaurant or opt for direct access to the course, immersing themselves in the nighttime journey from the moment they set foot on the mountain. A vibrant atmosphere will envelop them upon arrival, inviting them to explore an illuminated trail brimming with visual and auditory wonders. Enhanced by a narrative and musical soundtrack, the Massif Express gondola ride will connect visitors to the surrounding natural elements, all while offering breathtaking panoramic views. This unique experience is an opportunity for the whole family to enjoy a new level of discovery and wonder.
Keen to optimize access to the course while nearly doubling capacity, Atelier Occhio's creative team and executive producer Daniel Gélinas have ensured that this renewed formula is a must-see experience for visitors throughout the summer. Through their vision and expertise, this attraction has been transformed into a major event blending art, technology, and nature.
A spectacular nighttime experience
After setting attendance records in its first season, the project seeks to inspire the same public enthusiasm in 2024. Those who have already enjoyed the experience will be able to rediscover it in a different light thanks to its revamped format. This year, the descent will take place aboard the Massif Express gondola, enriching this immersive adventure with a striking narrative accompanied by music. Everyone will be able to engage with nature's many facets while soaking up the river’s breathtaking views, with every moment sure to become a lasting memory. A magical adventure for the young and young at heart.
The hike at the base of the mountain, with its gentle slope and considerably shortened length, will offer an easier experience for all on this illuminated trail. Plus, a new tableau will enliven their passage over the Passe-Temps footbridge, linking the gondola to the chairlift at the foot of the slopes.
An immersive experience for families, couples, or friends
Tickets for The Mechanical Bird are now available via the Le Massif de Charlevoix website, starting at $49 for adults, $22.89 for 7 to 12-year-olds, and $33.50 for 13 to 17-year-olds. Admission is free for children aged 6 and under.
Package rates are also available for the dinner and show at the summit chalet and at the Camp Boule buvette de montagne restaurant. Last year's event was completely sold out, making early ticket purchase highly recommended.
